Senior Full Stack Developer (Node.js, React.js, GraphQL)
About the role
As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and enhancing scalable web applications and APIs using modern frontend and backend technologies. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and collaborate closely with architects, product owners, UX designers, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js.
- Build responsive and user-friendly web applications using React.js.
- Develop and consume GraphQL APIs while ensuring performance, security, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Optimize application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in a Cognizant office. What you need to have to be considered
- Strong hands-on experience developing backend applications with Node.js.
- Proven experience building modern frontend applications using React.js.
- Experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs and schema development.
- Solid understanding of RESTful services, API integration, and web application architecture.
- Experience with asynchronous programming, performance optimization, and application troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile development environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
These will help you stand out
- Experience working with microservices-based architectures.
- Knowledge of GraphQL performance optimization techniques, including DataLoader and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with TypeScript and modern frontend development tools.
Compensation
The annual salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, subject to performance and applicable plan terms.
