Functional Lead

Job Summary

Serve as a functional lead specializing in S4 HANA Billing and Revenue and S4 HANA Advanced Order to Cash guiding end to end process design configuration and solution optimization for global clients in a hybrid work model while collaborating closely with cross functional teams to enhance financial outcomes and streamline order to cash operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive end to end design and configuration of S4 HANA Billing and Revenue processes to support accurate invoicing and compliant revenue recognition for global business operations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze existing order to cash flows and translate requirements into optimized S4 HANA Advanced Order to Cash solutions that improve operational efficiency.
• Configure pricing billing contracts and revenue related settings in S4 HANA to ensure reliable financial outcomes and consistent alignment with organizational policies.
• Coordinate with integration and technical teams to ensure that S4 HANA billing and order to cash functionalities work seamlessly with upstream and downstream enterprise systems.
• Develop detailed functional specifications and user stories that clearly capture business needs for enhancements and extensions in S4 HANA Billing and Revenue and Advanced Order to Cash.
• Support system testing by preparing test scenarios executing functional tests validating results and documenting defects to secure stable deployments.
• Guide business users during user acceptance testing by providing clarifications addressing issues and ensuring that solutions meet agreed functional expectations.
• Create clear process documentation configuration guides and end user materials that enable smooth onboarding and consistent adoption of S4 HANA processes.
• Provide ongoing functional support for incidents and service requests related to billing revenue and order to cash ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
• Identify opportunities to standardize and simplify finance and order to cash processes in S4 HANA to reduce manual effort and strengthen data quality.
• Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to align S4 HANA billing and revenue flows with financial reporting reconciliation and period close activities.
• Advise stakeholders on best practices in S4 HANA Advanced Order to Cash and Billing and Revenue to help shape future roadmaps that support sustainable growth.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing performance metrics and feedback to recommend enhancements that benefit customers and communities served by the organization.

Qualifications

• Possess professional experience of seven to ten years in functional consulting with a primary focus on S4 HANA Billing and Revenue and Advanced Order to Cash capabilities.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of end to end order to cash cycles including order capture pricing billing revenue posting and related financial impacts in an enterprise context.
• Apply domain exposure in finance and accounting to interpret business requirements support revenue related controls and connect operational flows with financial outcomes in S4 HANA.
• Leverage knowledge of industry essentials to adapt S4 HANA configurations to sector specific practices while maintaining standardization and compliance where possible.
• Communicate complex functional concepts in clear language to business and technical partners in a hybrid work model while maintaining effective collaboration across locations.
• Utilize structured problem solving skills to diagnose issues in billing and revenue or order to cash processes and propose practical resolutions that are sustainable and auditable.
• Engage proactively in learning new S4 HANA features and industry trends to continuously enhance solution quality and contribute to the broader purpose of responsible and transparent business operations.
