Job Summary
This hybrid role is for a senior quality engineer with three to seven years of experience in Java based test automation using TestNG and Selenium. The role focuses on building reliable automated regression suites improving product quality and collaborating closely with cross functional teams. Experience in cards and payments is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design automated test frameworks using Java with TestNG and Selenium to validate complex web applications and ensure high quality releases
- Develop reusable test scripts and utilities that improve coverage and reduce manual regression effort across multiple application modules
- Execute functional regression integration and smoke tests while documenting detailed results and collaborating with teams to resolve defects promptly
- Review requirement specifications and technical designs to identify test scenarios early reducing defect leakage and improving test effectiveness
- Create and maintain detailed test cases and test data sets that reflect real world usage patterns and edge conditions for critical business flows
- Analyze automation test results and failure patterns to identify root causes and propose sustainable corrective actions that enhance product stability
- Coordinate with developers and business analysts to clarify requirements refine acceptance criteria and refine test coverage for key features
- Optimize existing automation suites by refactoring code removing redundancy and improving execution speed to support efficient day to day execution
- Configure and run automated test suites in continuous integration environments ensuring rapid feedback on code changes and build quality
- Document clear defect reports with precise steps environment details and impact assessment to enable quick triage and resolution by engineering teams
- Validate fixes in a structured manner and update regression packs ensuring that resolved issues do not reoccur in subsequent releases
- Ensure compliance with organization quality standards and testing best practices while contributing to internal process improvements
- Participate in hybrid work model collaboration by joining onsite and remote sessions ensuring effective communication and alignment with project goals
Qualifications
- Describe experience using Java for building robust automation frameworks with clear coding practices and maintainable structure
- Apply knowledge of TestNG features such as annotations data providers and parallel execution to design efficient automated test suites
- Use Selenium web automation capabilities to create reliable UI test scripts that handle dynamic elements and cross browser scenarios
- Demonstrate understanding of software testing principles including test design techniques defect life cycle and risk based testing approaches
- Communicate effectively with technical and non technical partners by presenting test findings and quality risks in a clear and structured manner
- Apply experience in cards and payments domain when available to validate transaction flows authorization rules and settlement processes with higher accuracy
- Adapt quickly to project priorities within a day shift schedule while managing test planning execution and reporting activities independently
