Job Summary
The Sr Architect will design and optimize secure cloud native solutions using Microsoft GitHub Copilot AWS Azure and Core Java AWS(1CP) Azure(OpenShift) Github for enterprise scale applications in a hybrid work model. The role requires 11 to 13 years of experience in architecture focusing on robust design performance reliability and maintainability while collaborating with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design end to end cloud native architectures that leverage AWS and Azure services combined with Core Java components to deliver scalable and resilient enterprise systems that align with business strategy and technology standards.
- Define and document target architecture blueprints integration patterns and reference implementations that guide engineering teams in building consistent and maintainable solutions across multiple products and programs.
- Use Microsoft GitHub Copilot to accelerate code generation enforce coding patterns and improve development productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality readability and security.
- Review application designs and code modules built in Core Java and related frameworks to ensure alignment to architectural guidelines performance expectations and cloud readiness across AWS and Azure environments.
- Collaborate closely with product managers business analysts and engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into technical solution designs that are feasible secure and cost efficient.
- Conduct architecture assessments for existing applications identify technical debt and design modernization roadmaps that include migration to AWS or Azure and refactoring to cloud native patterns.
- Establish nonfunctional requirements for performance security observability scalability and reliability and ensure these are addressed through appropriate architecture decisions and design validations.
- Guide teams on secure development practices for cloud platforms by defining patterns for identity access management encryption network segmentation and logging to protect sensitive data and services.
- Create and maintain reusable architecture assets such as templates patterns decision records and best practice guides that help teams adopt consistent approaches across projects.
- Evaluate new AWS and Azure services and related tools run proof of concept exercises and provide recommendations on their suitability for enterprise adoption based on cost risk and business value.
- Coordinate with DevOps and platform engineers to ensure that architecture choices integrate effectively with CI and CD pipelines infrastructure as code and automated testing practices.
- Use metrics and observability tools to review system behavior in production identify architectural bottlenecks and drive continuous improvements in performance reliability and cost efficiency.
- Mentor engineers and architects by sharing practical guidance on designing cloud native Java solutions using Microsoft GitHub Copilot effectively and applying architecture best practices in day to day work.
Qualifications
- Require professional experience of 11 to 13 years in designing and implementing large scale enterprise applications using Core Java and related frameworks with a proven focus on architecture and solution design.
- Require strong hands on exposure to AWS services such as compute storage networking and managed databases along with experience in designing secure and scalable architectures on the platform.
- Require solid practical experience with Azure services including application hosting data platforms and integration components with emphasis on designing resilient multi region or high availability solutions.
- Require demonstrated use of Microsoft GitHub Copilot or similar AI assisted coding tools in real world projects including configuration responsible usage and integration into existing development workflows.
- Require experience with modern development practices such as test automation CI and CD pipelines infrastructure as code and monitoring solutions to support reliable delivery of cloud native systems.
- Nice to have prior work in hybrid cloud or multi cloud environments where architectures span both AWS and Azure and must manage consistency portability and governance across platforms.
- Nice to have experience in designing microservices architectures event driven systems or reactive applications using Core Java and cloud services to meet high throughput and low latency expectations.
- Nice to have exposure to security and compliance standards relevant to cloud deployments along with participation in security reviews threat modeling sessions and remediation planning.
- Nice to have experience collaborating with global teams in a hybrid work setting using remote friendly tools and practices to maintain alignment and productivity across locations and time zones.
