The Employee Relations Lead – Senior Manager role sits within Malaysia team, as a senior partner to the Malaysia Country HR Lead, HR Business Partners and business leaders. The role serves as a strategic and operational expert in managing the environment and behavior of the team, ensuring compliance, anticipating changes to local legislation and mitigating for these and building a positive work culture where Inclusion is the norm.
The role is Kuala Lumpur based and you must be willing to travel to client sites in Kuala Lumpur from time to time.
Job Responsibilities
Support the Malaysia HR Lead on all Employment Law, Compliance and Policy related matters at both a strategic and operational level in a fast-moving dynamic organization.
Develop, deliver and oversee all People Policy and Practices to ensure they are legally compliant – proactively and ahead of Legislation changes.
Develop and deliver new policy, in collaboration with HR and the business, ensuring it is fit for purpose and communicated comprehensively.
Facilitate a positive work environment, by setting up processes and procedures that build and maintain trust between the organization and its people, aligning business strategy with associate’s needs.
Support the HR Lead and HR teams in managing complex ER matters, liaising with external legal counsel and external bodies where appropriate.
Support local leadership in managing complex ER cases, providing advice and coaching as relevant.
Manage risk by tracking recurring issues and putting in place actions to ensure resolution of root cause issues.
Works alongside the Global Corporate Investigation team to ensure compliance with Global procedures and standards.
Devise training to ensure relevant education regarding Malaysian work practices for associates both within Malaysia and overseas.
Job Requirements
Degree in HR or related discipline or equivalent.
Demonstrable experience of Employee Relations expertise at a senior level within a matrix organization on wide range of topics, providing expert advice to managers and employees preferably in a business process consultancy environment.
In-depth knowledge of Malaysian employment law.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Mature and empathetic approach to managing people and information.
