As a Senior Consulting Manager specializing as a Sr. Business Analyst- Master Data Management (MDM) and Counterparty Data, you will work with leading Capital Markets clients to assess, modernize, and transform enterprise reference data capabilities. You will play a key role in helping financial institutions improve data quality, governance, operating models, and business processes across client, counterparty, and legal entity domains.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Consulting Manager - Senior Business Analyst, Master Data Management / Counterparty to support strategic data transformation initiatives within the Capital Markets sector. This role will focus on analyzing reference data ecosystems, evaluating current-state capabilities, defining future-state operating models, and developing actionable transformation roadmaps that improve data management, governance, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in reference data, counterparty management, legal entity structures, and stakeholder engagement within large financial institutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze client and counterparty reference data processes, data models, hierarchies, and relationship structures.
- Assess and benchmark current-state reference data capabilities against industry best practices in Master Data Management (MDM), entity management, Global Book alignment, and corporate actions processing.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify capability gaps, process inefficiencies, and transformation opportunities.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into actionable requirements and recommendations.
- Define target-state capabilities, operating model improvements, and data governance frameworks.
- Develop business cases, strategic recommendations, implementation roadmaps, and execution plans.
- Support data modernization and transformation initiatives across reference data and counterparty domains.
- Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to drive alignment, decision-making, and successful program outcomes.
- Contribute to consulting deliverables, presentations, workshops, and executive communications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 10-15 years of experience in Business Analysis- Capital Markets, Reference Data, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Strategy, or related transformation programs.
- Strong knowledge of client onboarding, counterparty data management, legal entity hierarchies, relationship management, and securities processing.
- Experience working on enterprise data modernization and operating model transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders across complex organizations.
- Strong business analysis, problem-solving, and requirements management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience developing strategic recommendations, transformation roadmaps, and business cases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale Capital Markets transformation programs.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and regulatory reporting considerations.
- Familiarity with enterprise MDM platforms and reference data management solutions.
- Experience working within global banking, investment banking, wealth management, or financial services environments.
- Consulting experience within a large consulting firm or professional services organization.
Work Model: This role is a hybrid position. Associates are expected to work from the Toronto office at least three days per week, with flexibility to work remotely on other days, subject to project and business requirements.
Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between CAD $125,000 and CAD $150,000, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and other factors permitted by applicable law.
In addition to salary, eligible employees may participate in Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program terms and individual performance.
