Lead Quality Engineer

Job Summary

Serve as a Lead Quality Engineer responsible for designing and driving robust automation strategies across API and user interface layers using Java Selenium and Playwright ensuring high reliability for complex enterprise applications in a hybrid work model while collaborating closely with cross functional product and engineering teams to deliver high quality solutions for finance and accounting focused initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead end to end quality engineering activities for complex enterprise applications by defining test strategies that align with product goals and organizational quality standards ensuring reliable delivery in a hybrid work model.
• Design comprehensive automation frameworks using Java that maximize code reusability maintainability and scalability enabling fast feedback cycles and higher confidence in release decisions.
• Develop and maintain robust automated regression suites for API testing using modern tools and libraries ensuring service level reliability data integrity and backward compatibility across integrations.
• Create and enhance UI automation scripts using Selenium to validate critical user journeys and business workflows reducing manual effort and improving coverage across supported browsers and platforms.
• Build and optimize Playwright based test suites to validate modern web interfaces focusing on stability speed and resilience against user interface changes in fast evolving product environments.
• Collaborate closely with product managers architects and developers to refine user stories and acceptance criteria proactively identifying quality risks and ensuring testability is built into every feature from inception.
• Analyze test results identify root causes of failures and work with engineering teams to implement robust fixes driving continuous improvement in code quality and defect prevention practices.
• Establish and monitor quality metrics such as defect leakage test coverage and automation effectiveness using insights to refine test strategy and communicate quality status to stakeholders in an objective manner.
• Drive continuous integration and continuous delivery practices by integrating automated tests into pipeline workflows reducing cycle time and enabling frequent reliable releases without compromising quality.
• Guide and mentor team members on automation best practices coding standards and quality engineering techniques fostering a culture of accountability learning and technical excellence within the quality community.
• Coordinate with cross functional teams during system integration and user acceptance testing phases ensuring that critical scenarios including negative flows and boundary conditions are validated thoroughly.
• Document test strategies automation design decisions and troubleshooting guidelines in a clear and structured manner enabling knowledge sharing onboarding efficiency and long term maintainability of test assets.
• Engage with stakeholders in finance and accounting related initiatives to understand domain specific scenarios controls and compliance needs translating them into meaningful test coverage that protects business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Possess professional experience between nine and twelve years in quality engineering with a strong focus on test automation for complex enterprise scale applications in hybrid work environments.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Java programming including object oriented design reusable libraries and clean coding practices applied specifically to test automation frameworks.
• Bring hands on expertise in API testing including functional contract and performance validations using modern tools with the ability to design robust test data and verify end to end data flows.
• Show proven experience in Selenium based automation including page object models cross browser validation and integration with continuous integration pipelines for scalable execution.
• Exhibit practical experience in Playwright automation for modern web applications including handling asynchronous behavior rich user interfaces and complex user flows.
• Display strong understanding of quality engineering concepts such as risk based testing regression strategy test data management and shift left approaches applied in real delivery scenarios.
• Offer working knowledge or project exposure in finance and accounting domains where quality controls reconciliation flows and regulatory considerations influence test design and coverage.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non technical stakeholders articulating quality risks tradeoffs and recommendations that support informed decision making and transparent delivery.

Certifications Required

ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer or equivalent automation focused certification is preferred.
